Bill Parrott is a well known event photographer in the equine world, I have included examples of his work because I have personally ordered many photos from him and they are always good quality and great action shots so he is a big influence on my work as I hope to be able to create work as good as his.
Parrott produces mainly event photographs rather than portraiture so I have included him as an event inspiration. He shoots on a Digital camera which I believe to be a canon, so this is one thing we have in common. I have personally seen Bill Parrott at work and he is very professional and efficient which I am hoping to be when I go into business by myself.
Parrott uses a variety of depths of field depending what sort of shots he's taking, eg. for closer head shots he uses a narrow depth of field however for his cross country and show jumping images he uses a wide depth of field so that the background and the horse are all in focus rather than just the horse. His work is mainly in colour however he has produced a few black and white images but they are not as strong as his colour images because you can't see all the details as well as you can in colour.
