Experimentation/Editing

I saved two versions of all the images I shot in my first two shoots with Phoebe and Woody, I saved one black and white version and one colour version. By doing this i gave myself a variety of different layouts for my book as it meant i could put any photo in any place by just selecting the black and white or the colour version. I also adjusted the levels of my images as some of them were quite overexposed where as some of them were slightly underexposed.

I chose to turn my photos black and white using the 'black and white' editing option instead of just 'desaturate', this is because I was then able to change the scale of the separate colours so that the levels of black and white were different so there was still quite a bit of detail where the colour would have been.

I am happy with the decision I made on my editing, I feel that if i had chose a different method to turn my images black and white they wouldn't have contained as much detail as they do with this method of turning them black and white!
I think if i were to re-do the editing stage of this assignment I may have experimented more with my editing, I would have tried cropping some of my images so there wasn't an unnecessary amount of background in them to distract from the main focus of my images. I also might have tried putting different filters on my images e.g. sepia or cyanotype, I think this would have created a variety in my images however I'm not sure how well this would have worked for my images.
